Agriculture as means of subsitence supports large chunks of poulation by making the food surplus in any area. Surplus meant for the level of production which can fulfill everyone needs in a particular with the sufficient availability to trade them in the other markets of the world also.
The ways in which it can serve surplus production are as follows:-
- Advancing the technology used in agriculture can also help in attaining the surplus level of food production in the economy. Technology leads to clear precision and prediction about the cultivation and harvesting will be transperant.
- Using HYV Seeds- The use of High Yield Variety seeds is deemed necessary for an economy to become surplus in the Agriculture production. During the period of 1960s, the popularity of these seeds are on demand and made India a net exporter of foodgrain in International Market.
- Providing incentives and markets for agricultural products is also the another major step that can be taken to increase the yield of farmers in the economy. This will help them to estimate their profits and thus a proper supply chain mechanism is enabled to them.
