Let the number of passengers with Rs.5 tickets =x

Then the number of passengers with Rs. 7.50 tickets =(40−x)

According to the given statement ,

5×x+(40−x)×7.50=230

On simplification , we get ,

5x+300−7.5x=230

5x−7.5x=230−300

−2.5x=−70

x=

−2.5

−70

We get ,

x=28

Therefore , the number of passengers with Rs. 5 tickets =28

Hope it helps ❤️

A bus is carrying 50 passengers, some with Rs. 5 tickets and the remaining with rs. 10 tickets. If the total money received from these passengers is Rs. 350, what is the number of passengers?

Please be specific. The number of passengers in the bus is already mentioned. It is 50. If you're intending to find the breakup of Rs 5 and Rs. 10 passengers then please find the solution below

Let the number of Rs. 5 passenger be x and Rs. 10 passenger be y.

So, x+y= 50 ..(1)

Again, from another condition, total collection is Rs. 350. So,

5x + 10y = 350

or x + 2y = 70 ..(2)

Subtracting (1) from (2),

y = 20

So, x= 50 - 20 = 30

Thereby, Rs. 5 passengers is 30 and Rs. 10 passengers is 20.
