Income of Gupta and Verma are in ratio 9:4 and their expndture are in ratio 7:3 .If each saves Rs 2000 thn Gupta's expndture is??

Let their income be 9x and 4x
Let their expenditures be 7y and 3y

Since their saving is Rs.2000

We have (9x - 7y = 2000)3

and

(4x - 3y = 2000)7-------(1)

By Eliminating We have

27x - 21y = 6000
28x - 21y = 14000
(-). (+). (-)

=> -x = -8000

=> x = 8000

Use this in (1)

=> 4(8000) - 3y = 2000
=> 3y = 30000
=> y = 10000

Gupta's Expenditure = 7y
=> 7(10000)
=> Rs.70000
