               Independence day speech

    Good morning respected dignitaries on the Dais, teachers and my dear friends. Today I am here to speak about Independence Day. We celebrate August 15th of every year as Independence Day to commemorate the day on which India got its freedom from the British rule in the year 1947. Even though it is a holiday, every schools and colleges celebrate it by hoisting flag and conducting many cultural activities, which is then concluded by the national anthem.

    The Prime Minister hoists the lag at Rajpath, Delhi and conveys a patriotic speech and honor all those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country. India is a vast country with varied caste, culture and religion. But on this occasion they unite together as Indians. On this day, we as Indians, feel proud of our country and take a vow to always remain patriotic to our motherland India.
