Hi friend,

Your answer:

Its been 70 years since we achieved our independence from the British rule. The then people thought that India'struggles were over and that we would soon turn into a developed nation. But they were wrong. 70 years have passed and that dream has still not been fulfilled.

India @70 paints a picture of sorrow for us. Even though we have achieved so many things. But still the challenges in front of us are huge. Even if we are "70 not out", still we are yet to be referred to as a developed nation.Also, given the current situation, it is highly unlikely that we would be called so within the nest few years.

We face the problems of an imploding population explosion, widespread poverty, illiteracy, worsening relations with immediate neighbours, growth of right-wing Hindu nationalism,etc. India will dethrone China as the most populous country by 2025. As per 2011 Census data, the sex ratio in few states is still below 800 per thousand males. The rate of unemployment in our country is rising. There are the problems of corruption, dynastic succession, personalization of political power in both parties and government in the political sphere.

So, inspite of all these, India is still a land of opportunities. According to Mr. Navin Pathak, the main reasons are:
Availability of skilled manpower,Geographical proximity to markets in South East Asia & Middle East, etc.

Even though there are so many problems, India is passing through an exciting stage of growth. The challenges faced by India today provides tremendous opportunities for innovation and solutions. India in 10 years will have achieved if not many atleast some main agendas. Thank God, from our vantage point, we can say that India has an exciting future.

India will be able to add
some 110 million jobs over the next 10 years. We are currently the world's largest growing economy. India is also a good destination for tourists. As stats show that India's tourism industry is booming. India has one of the largest pool of software engineers. India is also one of the fastest growing exporters of engineering goods. And many more.

So, How can we, the citizens of India, contribute to this so-called new India during the nest 10 years? We can do so, by contributing little by little. Like:-

* Say no to bribery. The bribe takers exist because there are bribe givers, so stop giving bribes or accepting it.
* Improve the financial status of farmers as our country is an agricultural country and the farmers are the backbone of our country.
* Give women freedom. Dont restrict them.
* Encourage vocational training.
* Encourage children to excel in what they do, not in what their parents want them to do.

With this, I conclude my essay.

Hope it helps!
