Road Transport is more useful than rail transport in many ways:

1.Roads have preceded Railways.

2.Roads can be easily built and maintained.

3. Roads can be built in higher slopes and mountains while it is difficult to construct Railways over rough terrain.

4. Roads can be made to pass through forest and desserts.

5. Roads are suitable for transporting light and perishable goods.

6. Roads carry heavy goods over long distances and then trucks carry these goods to the local markets.

7. Goods can be delivered right to the door steps of the consumers.

8. Roads are the cheapest means of transport for short distances.

9. Loading, unloading and transhipment from one gauge to another make delays in the transportation of goods by railways.

AIR(All India Radio) (Akashwani) broadcasts a variety of programmes in national, regional and local languages for various categories of people, spread over different parts of the country.
Doordarshan, is the national television channel of India, is one of the largest land networks in the world.
In India Newspapers are published in about 100 languages.
India is also the largest producer of feature films in the world. It produces short films; video feature films and documentary films.
