Road transport is considered better than railways and has always had an edge over railways:-
1)Laying down of railway tracks is more expensive that is construction cost of roads is cheaper.
2)Road transport is suitable for movement of less heavy goods and transport of less number of people over short distances.
3)Road transport provide door to door service and also roads act as a feeder transport i.e provide a connection or link between seaports railway stations airports etc.
