But since the last decade or so these festivals have been commercialized by some organizations and have become a means to earn high profits, thereby they have lost their importance. All the festivals now a days are celebrated on the account of earning money in some way or the other.
The commercialisation of festivals have completely ruined the original meaning of what these festivals used to stand for.
There are competition athat are held just in the name of festivities and games, which frankly ruins the whole purpose of festivals.
These should be a place for merrymaking and carnivalism not a money-making competition.
