India's latitudinal and longitudinal extent both are approximately 30°,but then also distance between north to south appears to be larger than east to west.Why?

because India's shape is like a diamond. it is broader in the north and south, but narrower in the East and west, so that's why it seems larger [Side note: thin things look larger (lenght wise) than thick things]
