Constitution lays down a set of rules that our country need to follow. Indian constitution is the largest written constitution in the world. Indian constitution was drafted by B.R ambedkar and the 389 members of drafting committee under his leadership. They finally took 2 years 11 months 18 days to complete it . They completed it in 26th November 1949 but it came into effect in 26th January 1950 at republic day. our constitution ensures secularism,sovereign, liberty, democratic,republic form of government . it also has directive principles of state policy,
fundamental rights and legislature to ensure justice. the directive principle of state policy is borrowed from ireland.it also laid down universal adult franchise where everyone in or above 18 can vote irrespective of caste,sex or gender and social back grounds. it is not only the function of government to ensure justice but we should also help them by following the rules that are laid by Indian constitution for citizens of India.
