- The Judiciary plays a crucial role in the functioning of India's democracy. It is the judiciary consisting of the mechanism of courts, that a citizen can approach in case of violation of any law. The judiciary protects the tenets of constitution and democracy.

- The Judiciary is the final interpreter of the Constitution. It has the power to reject particular laws passed by the Parliament, if it believes that these laws are a violation of the basic structure of the Constitution. This is often termed as JUDICIAL REVIEW.

- The Judiciary upholds the law and enforces Fundamental Rights. Any citizen of our country can approach the Supreme or High Court if he/she believes that his/her Fundamental Rights have been violated.
