I love the fact that such an interesting question was asked. This question seems obvious as the only ocean to be named after a country is the Indian Ocean.
1. Indian ocean is named after India because, India holds a central location which is at the head of the Indian Ocean.
2. India has the longest coastline in the region adding to its clout, no other country in the Indian ocean indeed has that long a coastline.
3. India also serves as an important transit point for sea routes connecting the two regions that is countries of Europe with countries of East Asia.
