Plastic is a serious threat to biodiversity as they are non biodegradable and they do not decompose. There are many measures being taken by governmental and non governmental organizations in this regard like:-
+ In many states of India plastic is banned. Shopkeepers won't provide plastic bags in many places and in many famous retail stores and malls.
+ The government is encouraging the usage of cloth, paper and bags made of other material other than plastic.
