Phase angle inaccuracy is not present in induction-type energy meters.

These are primarily caused by variations in supply frequency, erroneous lag corrections, changes in coil resistance with temperature, and so on. The magnetic circuit lacks balance. As a result, even when no current flows through the current coil, driving force is generated in the disc, and the meter advances. Even under low load, creeping boosts the speed of the disc, which raises the metre measurement. Creeping is also caused by vibration, stray magnetic fields, and an additional voltage across the potential circuit. Excessive friction causes the growing mistake.
