Explanation:

A New Society

Most 18th century Americans lived in self-sustaining rural communities. The Industrial Revolution witnessed the evolution of large urban centers, such as Boston and New York City, and spurred a massive internal migration of workers. The Industrial Revolution also stimulated the rise of unskilled labor.

Explanation:

By comparison to all other movements, the Industrial Revolution radically changed life for everybody:

1.Before the Industrial Revolution that great majority of the population scraped out its living through farming; it was hard, back-breaking work, unaided by machines.

2.Literacy, the ability to read and write, was almost always reserved for the elite. It is now considered something that ought to be universal.

The vast majority of the population had little or no leisure time. In between farming duties, almost all one’s time was taking up cooking, washing clothes, and cleaning.

3Most people had little knowledge of events beyond one’s local village.

Most people had very little education, making superstition the rule, rather than the exception, among almost everyone.

3.Physicians made little money, and medical expenses were close to zero; because all that wonderful technology didn’t exist, so…

4.Consequently, living beyond age 30 or 40 required that you be quite lucky in your health.

If you ran into a plague or virus, little could be done. You were toast.

Most people never traveled more than a dozen miles from where they were born, in an entire lifetime!

And that’s just a partial list. The changes in life for the average person, before and after the Industrial Revolution, go on and on.
