Yes,industries are necessary for development.As we all know that there are advantages and disadvantages in every aspect.Man wants change,but that change today has been a hazard to many people.For example: People who are working in cement industry,by working many hours together are getting many diseases like lung disorders,astama, and many skin diseases.Industries are not only hazardous to people but also hazardous to many animals and entire environment. Fertilisers industry cause many aquatic creatures to die,the toxic chemicals are released into river and many aquatic animals are becoming extinct.So in this way industries cause a lot of environmental problems

Though industries contribute to nation's development economically.
It affects the environment greatly :
* It causes air pollution due to release of toxic substances in the atmosphere.
* It causes water pollution due to the release of toxic substances in water bodies.
* It causes soil pollution due and degrades the fertility.
* It causes global warming.
And it causes many health problems too. Thus, I would say industry's contribution to development alone shouldn't be taken in account but also the adverse effects that it causes.
Thanks
