Inequality on Anne Frank's
Answers
Answer:
The Diary of Anne Frank demonstrates the theme of inequality in multiple ways. For one, the whole book is based on Anne's family and the struggles of other Jewish families hiding from the Nazis. The Nazis tried to prove they were more powerful than everybody else (especially the Jews) by capturing and imprisoning them in concentration camps. Citizens feared for their lives when hiding from the Nazis. Another example of this deep inequality is when Anne said "People can tell you to keep your mouth shut, but it doesn't stop you from having your own opinion. Even if people are still very young, they shouldn't be prevented from saying what they think." Here Anne is alluding to the fact that the Nazis treated the Jews as helpless younger children and that they treated them terribly without giving the Jews basic rights, such as the freedom to think and express what they felt. This was how the Nazis viewed the Jews; beneath them as if they were animals.
