after consumption of food, the intestinal tract with a series of muscle contractions, push food and waste products through the esophagus and small intestine. this process is called peristalsis. some animals use muscle contractions to move the cud in mouth so that it can be chewed again. this is called reverse peristalisis. it triggers vomiting in human. this happens in humans when they have health problems and sometimes intentionally.
Example : ruminants such as cows and goats.
