Social accounting is the process of communicating the social and environmental effects of organizations' economic actions to particular interest groups within society and to society at large.




Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a corporate initiative to assess and take responsibility for the company's effects on environmental and social well-being. 




Corporate companies like the TATA, ITC, Aditya Birla, and Indian Oil Corporation, are few to name who are involved in helping the society ever since their foundation. Several other organizations through donations and charity events have been doing their part for the society. 




Organizations like Bharath Petroleum, Maruti Suzuki India, and Hindustan Unilever, adopt villages where they focus on holistic development. 




GlaxoSmithKline's CSR programs primarily focus on health and healthy living by working in tribal villages where they provide medical check-up and treatment, health camps, health awareness programs, etc. They also provide money, medicines and equipment to non-profit organizations that work towards improving health and education in under-served communities. 




SAP India in partnership with Hope Foundation, an NGO that works for the enhancing the poor and the needy throughout India. 




Reliance India aims to positively and holistically impact society towards Rural transformation; Healthcare; Education; Environment; Protection of national Art, Heritage and Culture, and Disaster Response.
