Our Indian National Flag came into existence when we achieved our independence from the foreign yoke - the British rule in India. The flag has been well thought of and made to symbolize the ethics of the Indian people and as such, identifies with the people.
The national flag of India is the symbol of unity, honour and freedom.
It has three colors, thus know as ' tricolor '.They are saffron, white and green. At the top is saffron, which signifies sacrifice and patriotism.
In the middle is white, which stands for truth in word and actions and purity in our thoughts.
At the bottom is green, which stands for life and prosperity.
In the middle of the white is a blue wheel, which is called the Ashoka Chakra. It has 24 spokes and it stands for progress.
It is hoisted in the government offices, schools and other educational institutions on the occasions of Republic Day, Independence Day and other national events. Indian national flag was first time adopted on July 22nd in 1947.

The flag was discovered by vinitpatil and was designed by Pingali Venkayya.
We respect and know about our national flag which brings patriotism in us.

Hope it helps.

  • ⚘National Flag is a horizontal tricolour of India saffron (kesaria) at the top, white in the middle and India green at the bottom in equal proportion. The ratio of width of the flag to its length is two to three. In the centre of the white band is a navy-blue wheel which represents the chakra.
