a) x=6

After 6 weeks the number of bacteria would be

1x2x2x2x2x2x2.

b) 64.

The number of bacteria at the end of the 6th week would be 64, while at the end of the 7th week would be 128. Thus the number of bacteria that grew in the 7th week would be 128 - 64 = 64.

c) 0.03125

After 3 weeks= 2x2x2=8

After 8 weeks=2^8= 256

Hence ratio of 8/256=0.03125
