Input, Output and storage devices of a computer and their examples are as follows:

Input Devices:

  • Data from input devices is sent to the central processing unit (CPU) for processing from the outside world (i.e., outside the computer). Numerous methods exist for gathering data and entering it into computers. A keyboard, a mouse, a graphics tablet, a touch screen, a bar code reader, a magnetic stripe reader, and other devices are examples of these. Input devices are therefore used to enter data into the computer system from the outside world.

Output Devices:

  • For information to be useful to humans, every computer system must have a way to display information or print it out. Therefore, there must be some output devices. A VDU is a very helpful output device. A printer is another useful device that enables hardcopy production. There's a chance you'll also require an audio output. In this situation, speakers or headphones would be helpful.

Storage devices:

  • Of course, the computer might not want to immediately display or print the processing results. It might just want to save the outcomes for later. Therefore, it requires some storage options. Even when the computer's power is turned off, storage devices continue to store data. The data can be obtained by turning on the power once more. Storage devices are referred to as non-volatile devices because of this. Hard drives, CDs, Blu-ray disks, USB pen drives, and magnetic tape are some examples.
