Insectivorous plants depend upon insects for their food ,but still they are know to be partially heterotrophic.why?

 The heterotrophs do not have chlorophyll, hence they cannot prepare their own food. They depend on other plants and animals for food. ... Insectivorous plants like pitcher plant and venus-fly-trap are partial heterotrophs since, they can prepare their food but still trap insects to get nitrogenous insects.

As you know that heterotrophic plants depend on others so in this case the insects are the others . And they are called partially heterotrophic so because sometimes if no insects come to them they start manufacturing their food .
