insectivorous plants like venus flytrap and pitcher plant are green plants and can photosynthesise . then why do the need to feed on insects

Insectivorous plants are green plants so that they can photosynthesize and prepare their own food....

But they don't get efficient nitrogen as they grow in nitrogen deficient soil...

They feed on insect to fulfill their nitrogen deficiency....
