Answer:

firstly make the denominators same by finding LCM

3/8 and -1/2

after finding LCM

3/8=3/8

-1/2= -4/8

so.

2/8, 1/8 ,0/8 , -1/8 ,-2/8 ,-3/8

0/8 is also possible because it is a rational number in the form of p/q where q doesn't equals to 0

Step-by-step explanation:

To Find :

  • 5 rational numbers between \dfrac {3}{8} and \dfrac {-1}{2}

Solution :

As, to find rational numbers between any two numbers,

  • Firstly make there denominators same.
  • We have to multiple them by (n+1) number.
  • Here , the value of n is the number of rational's to obtain.

Making the denominator same:

= {3×2}{8×2} = {6}{16}

And

= {-1×8}{2×8} = {-8}{16}

\\

Now,

According to the Question:

  • We have to find 5 rational numbers so , we will multiple (5+1) to the numbers.

That is,

= {6}{16} × 6 = {36}{16}

And

= {-8}{16} × 8 = {-48}{16}

The 5 rational numbers between 3/8 and -1/2 are -49/ 16 , -50/16 , -51/16 , -52/16 , -53/16 .
