Insert four rational numbers between - 1 and -7/8​

since the denominators are not same....we take LCM.....

LCM of 1 ( as denominator of -1 is 1) and 8 is: 8

=> -1/1 × 8/8 = -8/8.

Now....we have to find four rational numbers....so we multiply both the numbers with 5( one number more than the number of numbers you need)

=> -8/8 × 5/5 = -40/40

. and.

. -7/8 × 5/5 = -35/40

finally...you can write the numbers lying between the two new numbers as the answer

i.e. -36/40.....-37/40.....-38/40....-39/40.
