In order to find or make the structure of a compound from the name given you must look at the stuffix of the compound and you must know the general formula of that homologous series. For example:- If you want to make the structure of ethene so must first notice the suffix that is 'ene' so it shows that it has triple bond between its any 2 carbon atoms. And the general formula of the homologous series of alkene is CnH2n_2 so by eth we know it has 2 carbon atom so putting it in formula we get formula of ethene that is C2H2 so by this you can make the structure of ethene.
