Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) Secretary B. Udaya Lakshmi released new language (English, Sanskrit, Urdu, Telugu and Hindi) textbooks for the first year Intermediate courses, at the Secretariat on Monday. Speaking to the media, Ms. Lakshmi said the new textbooks were only for the current academic year and that the overall syllabus has been changed.
Topics useful to students preparing for competitive examinations like NEET, banking and LIC and Chartered Accountancy were incorporated. The syllabus for second Intermediate courses for 2018-19 was not touched. Training would be given to the faculty members if they find teaching the new syllabus difficult.
