- Property of the system which depends upon only state of the system and not on the path by which is is achieved is called state function.
For example,
- Internal energy
- Temperature
- Volume
- Pressure
- Moles
# Internal energy is called state function because -
- Internal energy does not depend on the path used to go from initial state to final state.
- It depends only on the state of the system.
