Difference between dermatogen and plerome.

○  In terms of shoot apex approach, the meristematic cells can be differentiated into three zones:

 (i)  The Dermatogen stays in the outer layer, giving rise to the epidermis section in a stems

(ii) The Periblem stays in the middle layer, giving rise to the endodermis section.

(iii) The Plerome stays in the inner layer, giving rise to the pericycle and vascular tissues

○  In terms of root apex approach,

 (i) The Dermatogen provides the rise to the epiblema layer of a root.

(II) The Plerome again provides the rise to the pericycle, pith and vascular tissues.

Dermatogen and plerome differentiate into apical meristem or meristematic tissue.

Explanation:

  • Dermatogen and gives rise to the epidermis section in stems and stays in the outer layer.
  • Plerome rise to the pericycle and vascular tissue and stays in the inner layer.
  • Dermatogen and  Plerome is the two main parts of meristematic tissue, even though they belong to the same category they differentiate into meristematic tissue.
