Intramolecular hydrogen bonding takes place in ortho-nitrophenol but not in para-nitrophenol

The above pic shows their structures that I posted in another question. The hydrogen bond doesn't happen within the molecule on para position due to larger distance between the two groups than in ortho position.

In intermolecular in ortho nitrophenol the hydrogen bond is near and in para it is opposite. So it doesn't occurs.
