• body is differentiated into stem and leaf like structures

• no specialised tissue for conduction of water

• eg: moss and liverworts

PTERIDOPHYTA

• plant body is differentiated into root stem and leaves and has specialised tissues for conduction of water and minerals

• spores are present on the undersurface of leaves

• eg: Marsilea , ferns and hotsetails
