The Elizabethan era a time when the English culture flourished as well as many changes and developments during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. She was the Queen of England from 1558, and was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry. Queen Elizabeth I was an expansionist with commerce and geographical exploration, and started the colonization of the New World. She manipulated her suitors to strengthen the country's position, and she was known to be well-educated, and had great powers of judgement in both personal and political affairs. Queen Elizabeth I is considered one of England's greatest monarchs (Elizabeth I par. 2)
