Ionization enthalpy is nothing but the energy required to remove an electron from outermost orbit of a neutral gaseous atom where screening effect is the effect that act as a shield between nucleus and valence electron which decreases the effect of nuclear change on valence electron. So, IONIZATION ENTHALPY IS INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL TO SHIELDING OR SCREENING EFFECT.

The ionization energy is the lowest amount of energy required to remove one electron(the most loosely attached electron) from each atom in one mole of an element in gaseous state to form gaseous (positive) ion.
