IQ or the intelligence quotient refers to the total score that has been derived from standardized tests which is basiclaly designed in order to assess the human intelligence.


It was coined by the German scientist William Stern for a scoring method in the intelligence tests.


IQ histoirically is obtained by dividing the person's mental age score , obtained by admistering an intelligence test, also by the person's age and is both expressed in ther terms of years and age.
