Iron filings were added to solution of copper sulphate.After 10 minutes , it was observed that the blue colour of the solution changed and layer got deposited on iron filings. The colour of the solution and that of the layer would respectively be-
A. Yellow and green
B. Brown and blue
C. Red and greenish blue
D. Green and reddish brown
Guyz I know the answer plzz give the the explanation and a good answer for it.. I mean..how ..basicity , acidity and all that...plzz guyz

Answer is d)........ Because

As Iron is more reactive tha Copper it can replace Copper from CuSO4. CuSO4 is in blue Colour and FeSO4 is in light green colour. So, there will be change in the composition and colour of the solution (from blue to light green). And decomposition of Copper layer on surface of nail.

Fe is more reactive than Cu hence it displaces the Cu from CuSO4 solution and forms FeSO4 solution. then the liberated Cu gets deposited on Fe to change its colour as reddish brown. where the the color of solution turn into sea green.
