Iron fillings and sulphur were mixed together and divided into two parts A and B.Part A was

a) Part A is a homogenous mixture because part B is a compound called FeS.

b)  When Carbon disulphide is added to part A the sulphur would get dissolved and the iron would settle at the bottom. No change will take place if we add Carbon disulphide in part B.

c) From part A we can separate iron by using a magnet. If we use magnet in part B no change will take place.

d) The gas released when HCl is added to part A Hydrogen Sulphide gas is released. It is colourless gas with a smell of rotten eggs.
