Iron is not making of railway tracks? Why?

- Iron doesn't have the rigidity and strength required to provide the required stability and to withstand the load of a train.
- At the same time it get corroded easily, therefore its life gets shortened.
- All these characteristics are possessed by its cousin Steel, hence preferred.
