The above statement is False .

Because

Let's take an example

Add ✓2 and ✓3

we know that

✓2 = 1.414--------

✓3 = 1.732-------

when we add ✓2 and ✓3

That is ,

1.414----- + 1.732------

= 3.146-------

Here we are getting a number which is non - terminating and non - recurring decimal.

But according to Rational numbers property only a terminating and non - terminating recurring decimal can be converted into a rational number.

But ,

This actually states that
