To Find :

  • we need to find that - 150 is a term of AP or not

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :

  • First term (a) = 26
  • Common difference (d) = 23 -26 = -3

an = a + (n - 1)d

›› - 150 = 26 + (n - 1)×(-3)

›› - 150 - 26 = - 3n - 3

›› - 176 + 3 = - 3n

›› - 173 = - 3n

›› - 173/-3 = n

›› 173/3 = n

   \large\dag  \large { \red{\underline{\bf{Hence }}}}

  • n can't be a rational number so -150 is not a term of given AP.
