Is -150 a term of the AP 17,12,7,2....?

Here ,

A.P. = 17 , 12 , 7 , 2........

Clearly , a = 17. and d. = a2 - a1 = 12 - 17 = -5

Let -150 is the nth term of given A.P.

Therefore,. -150 = a + (n-1)d

-150 = 17 + (n-1)(-5)

-133 = (n-1)(-5)

133/5 = n-1

n = 27.6

Since n can not be decimal number

Therefore , -150 is not a term of given A.P
