Whenever electromagnetic waves exist in a medium with matter, their wavelength is decreased. ... Generally, electromagnetic radiation is classified by wavelength into radiowave, microwave, terahertz (or sub-millimeter) radiation, infrared, the visible region that is perceived as light, ultraviolet, X-rays and gamma rays.

It's the other way around. I would rather say Light is a part of Electromagnetic Spectrum.

Light is that part of Electromagnetic Spectrum that we our eyes can detect and thus Light helps us to see. But Electromagnetic Spectrum is way bigger than Light, It consists of Range of Electromagnetic Radiation from deadly Gamma Rays to Radio waves. Light is just Small part of it.

I hope that helped you.
