Explanation:

Attraction may occur between two oppositely charged bodies or a charged body and an uncharged one. That is why in attraction, one is not sure if both bodies are charged, However in repulsion, there are two bodies that have the same charge. And hence we say that That is why repulsion is the sure test of electrification.

Attraction is not a true test of electrification.

  • Repulsion is considered the sure test of electrification.
  • This is so, because attraction can takes place between both charged bodies and neutral bodies (due to induction of charge).
  • Repulsion will surely test the nature of charge of a body and will indicate whether the other object is charged and has charge opposite to that of first object.
