chipko is a movement that was done by the members of a village as they were against deforestation which is cutting of trees. in this movement all the villagers for the sake of saving trees hugged the trees in such a way that those who wanted to cut them could not reach the bark of the tree unless they kill the person hugging the tree.various villagers went forward to help this movement.
