For the name sake and the perusing of the development in a fundamental way, yes.
For the protection and the conservation of various species with a sympathy for the forests (as they are important and take part in the life changing photosynthesis), yes.
There are different accepts from different people from different careers and point of views. But, is it justified? The answer remains unknown even to the conservationists.

not at all because if you cut a tree CO2 gass emission increase. It emits large amount of carbon dioxide which is harmful for environment. Forests in North America are managed reasonably well, even when big industry is involved. Especially when big industry is involved. Trees are a renewable resource, a crop. There is incentive to plant new trees immediately after harvesting the old ones. Why own or lease land you aren’t utilizing? Neglecting assets is not profitable.
