Yes. My views are that :
Everyone has to face competitions in their life in order to succeed, plus nowadays Competitions are getting tougher. One face of education is to prepare students for the life outside the classroom; so competitions are essential.Competitions make children more independent. It makes them realise their mistakes, their strong points as well as weak ones. It enhances talent, as suggested by the popular saying “Competition is the whetstone of talent”. With competition in studies students are encouraged to be more imaginative in order to stand out from their fellow students. It makes them more creative.
NEGATIVES (as u asked)
Competition can sometimes lead to conflict. It can lead students to cheat, copy, etc and do bad things. Sometimes losing a competition can discourage. Winning can lead to become proud and can cause enmity. Even there's a saying:
" real learning starts when competitive spirit ceases."
