Yes discharge of pollutants from cities and industries led to shrinkage of forests as effluents discharged fr industries and urban areas into the river or any dumping yard affect the ecosystem by causing harm to the littlest among all animals such as insects which are very helpful for maintaining proper balance of ecosystem.
