Hello friend !!!
Here's what I think.....no opposition but jus my opinion.
There are various types of people and each person has different mentality, different living style, different way of living and so on.
Not everything that suits a person suits each and everyone else.
You say your speed decreases if you listen to music and solve maths problems at the same time.
But for me it's jus the opposite. When I listen to music my speed considerably increased and I become a bit more calmer while solving.
May be in your case, your mind wants complete calmness around in order to concentrate on a particular thing. So when you try to do maths with complete concentration the music interferes and your brain isn't able to concentrate perfectly, hence making your ability to solve the problems slower.
