Evaporation is a physical change because when we heat water, they rise up as water vapours and their state change but the thing is that only it's physical appearance (or properties) change not the chemical properties.

So, as only physical appearance changes we can condense the water vapours and change it to water in liquid state again.

Therefore, evaporation is a physical change.
