is
F. Here is a conversation between Gramma and GT about deserts. With a partner take up
the roles of GT and Gramma and act out the scene. Remember you have to convert the
lines into direct speech to make the dialogue.

GT asked Gramma if the Sahara was the largest desert in the world. Gramma
said no and added that it is the second largest desert. Then GT asked Gramma
which desert was the largest in the world. In reply Gramma said that Antarctica is
considered to be the largest desert because a desert is described as an area of land
that has very little water and has very few plants growing in it. She added that by
that definition, Antarctica is the largest desert. Then GT asked her if the Arctic was
also a desert and Gramma told him that the Arctic is not really a piece of land, and
that it is an ocean covered by thick layers of ice.
